Project Description
Bixbite is a web-based HR and employee management system built with Go (Echo framework) and SQLite. The system manages employee data, departments, role-based permissions, and supports Google OAuth login for easy team access.
Challenge
The client needed a lightweight, easy-to-deploy internal HR system that doesn't require an expensive database server. The system must support multi-departments with different permissions per role, and integrate with the Google Workspace the company already uses.
Solution
We built the system using Go with Echo framework and SQLite as the database — enabling single-binary deployment with no external dependencies. The system includes Google OAuth authentication, per-department RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), and complete employee data management including position history and join/exit dates.
Result
The system was successfully deployed as a single binary Docker container with memory consumption under 50MB. All staff can log in using existing company Google accounts, and per-department permissions successfully isolate sensitive data across divisions.
